Brothers
We say
After meeting whilst studying at Hull University, AFFAIRS have since relocated en masse to Manchester. Tipped as ones to watch earlier this year by Xfm/ Radio X's John Kennedy, this is one of five tracks produced at Konk studios by Ed Buller (the man behind classic albums for Suede, Spiritualized and Pulp as well as more recent gems from White Lies and The Courteeners). Their sound is solidly developing and this is the follow-up to the well-received Blood Science, which picked up plays at Xfm, 6 Music and Amazing Radio after initially being championed by Alan Raw for BBC Introducing over at Radio Humberside. Brothers is getting early support from Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy and Janice Long. You can hear them growing in confidence on this indie guitar anthem that explores the theme of male loyalty and how it often prevails, even through tough times. Having opened up for the likes of Coasts and alt-J, the lads are looking for a live agent as well as labels and publishers, plus anyone seeking sync opportunities. We'd suggest you'd better jump to it.
