Outside the UK, there’s barely a country in the world where this song from Nicky Jam & Enrique Iglesias hasn’t already caused a massive impact. Multi-platinum in Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Argentina, Mexico and Chile, it’s reached No.1 in a staggering 38 territories to date (including 17 weeks in Spain), and spent more than half the year at the top of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart, eclipsing the previous record-holder Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira, released almost a decade ago. With over a quarter of a billion YouTube views combined on the Spanish version of the video and new glossy English one too, it’s now been streamed 137 million times on Spotify. Now the promotional spotlight moves to the UK. Featuring Enrique’s distinctive vocals, it’s a simple, reggae-tinged love song with a dancehall beat that grows and grows with every play. Once UK radio and a few key TV slots fall in place on this, we could well be looking at those hugely-impressive global numbers stacking up even higher.
