Memories Of A Fisherman
We say
Ticking Tree comprises of several talented musicians who’ve played with some of the biggest names in the business including One Direction and Take That. This thought-provoking debut single is taken from their Butterfly Wings EP, and was produced and recorded at London’s legendary Metropolis Studios, which are celebrating their 25th anniversary this September. You can see the band live when they play The Drury Club on London’s Drury Lane later in the month and Metro Acoustic at Metropolis Studios in October. There’s also a feature about this track in the current issue of Songwriting Magazine. It’s a joyful, acoustic-folky sound on first listen, reminiscent of early Mumford & Sons, However, just below the surface, the optimism and exuberance masks a feeling of inadequacy in the lyrics, as songwriter Adman tries to express how the reality of true human feelings are often inaccurately conveyed by every one of us to outsiders. With the daily news showing our world seemingly in chaos right now, this track is particularly poignant.
