We say

You’re going to see and hear a lot about Frida Sundemo in the next few months. She’s soon to appear in the role of Marcy, singer with The Lazies, in John Niven’s eagerly anticipated film adaption of his best-selling novel Kill Your Friends, set on the fringes of the music industry in the 1990s. As well as releasing songs on the soundtrack album for that, she’s been working on new music in her own right including this pulsing beacon of shimmering synth pop that’s bright, optimistic and forward-thinking whilst proudly displaying its retro leanings and influences at the same time. It follows on from two well-received EPs; her debut Indigo and follow-up Lit Up By Neon, both of which garnered praise from NME, The Line Of Best Fit and many other tastemakers. After impressing SXSW audiences this year, she’ll perform tonight (August 18) at an industry showcase at Birthdays in Dalston. This Scandi star is in the ascendency and looks set to shine brightly as 2016 approaches.
