Lanterns
We say
We’ve been tracking 20-year-old Just Millie since we noticed her debut Spanner In The Works next to George Ezra and Ed Sheeran on iTunes Top 20 singer-songwriter chart. She began performing aged 13 and like many of her musical heroes her live shows (supporting the likes of Misty Miller and Tom Baxter) have featured her skilfully blending harmony looping pedals and electronic kick drum. This title track to her latest EP is dreamily seductive, showcasing her calming voice, inviting us lyrically to put our faith in the power of hope and the joy it brings when a plan comes together perfectly. Produced by Dan Brown, who’s also been working with other Record of the Day favourites Jerry Williams, Karin Park and Michael Baker, there’s also a remix to come from Super Stylers too. Her debut London gig is tomorrow (July 21) as part of the Big Hug Management showcase at Underbelly Hoxton. With a One To Watch tip from Paul Lester in The Guardian and a track featured on Acoustic magazine's covermount, the buzz for this fresh young talent is set to get even louder.
