Trying To Breathe
We say
Two years after his remarkable and deeply personal Ocean Of Pain went viral, singer, rapper and poet Sam Switch is set to release an EP titled Solace. Financed by the unexpected generosity of a stranger who was moved enough by the words spoken during an impromptu performance at Ronnie Scott’s in London, you can sense Sami’s heart and soul laid bare here. This track was written and recorded late into the night in a 16th century castle by the coast with producers Ross OD and legendary film composer Andy Gray. Tastemakers including SB.TV, Noisey, Earmilk and Complex have all been enthusiastic online champions of his work alongside Clash, where the EP is now being streamed in full. Tonight (May 28) he performs a sold-out London show at The Old Queen’s Head in Islington, an evening that promises to be brutally honest, confessional and, above all, memorably moving. After the darkness he’s experienced, now is his time to truly shine brightly in the spotlight.
