Unstoppable
We say
Performing tonight (May 15) on BBC2’s extended version of this week’s Later With Jools Holland, Lianne La Havas returns with this first track from her forthcoming album Blood. Sultry and soulful, it’s an accomplished re-emergence three years on from numerous critical plaudits. Her debut Is Your Love Big Enough? was named 2012’s iTunes Album Of The Year and she received nominations from the Mercury Prize judges as well as the Ivor Novellos, MOBOs and on BBC's Sound of Poll. This single has already been a Record Of The Week at 6 Music, Annie Mac’s Hottest Record at Radio 1 and Jo Whiley’s New Favourite Thing at Radio 2. On Tuesday (May 19) she plays Wilton’s Music Hall in east London before two upcoming dates supporting Paolo Nutini this summer and major festival appearances at Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival. Reaching out and begging for some reconciliation for a relationship that’s broken down, this is an emotional but inspiring groove that she wraps us all up in thanks to fearless production from Paul Epworth. Filled with hope and passion, it’s one hell of a comeback.
