We say

It may surprise you to discover that Coldplay’s song Trouble is now almost 15 years old. Despite being a UK Top 10 hit for the band at the end of 2000, it’s rarely covered. Which is why this stunning version of the song from Ivy & Gold deserves your fullest attention. We last featured Rachel & Jamie in November with their own track Headlights. On stage the duo continue to impress us every time we see them. Last month they supported Laura Doggett on her UK tour (after being specifically asked by Laura herself) and tonight (April 8) is the second of a three-night sold-out residency for SoFar Sounds in London. They also play The Great Escape in Brighton on May 16, their first time at the showcase festival. It’s a while since we featured a famous cover as Record of the Day. Last time we did it was the Parra For Cuva version of Wicked Games by Chris Isaak which then became a global smash. We’re convinced this fan-favourite from Ivy & Gold’s live set truly has the legs to be as big a hit as that and synced at international level. It’s time to remind yourself just how glorious the song is.
