Pucker
We say
From the very first note, the dreamy vocal of Marlene Enright from The Hard Ground captivates on this beautiful track. The five-piece from County Cork are about to release Triptych, their second album which is a collection of songs formed as the name suggests from three EPs. UK tour dates for October are being finalised at the moment but if you’re in or around Dublin on May 7, they launch the album at The Odessa Club before they head off round the country throughout the spring and summer months. Irish radio tastemakers at Today FM and RTE Radio 1 have so far supported the track and, quite frankly, it’s easy to understand why. Reminding us of great acts like Mazzy Star and The Sundays back in the nineties, this is wistful, understated glory, just the kind of thing to close your eyes and recline to whilst banishing the world outside for a few sublime moments. Serene and tranquil but layered beautifully throughout, this is a truly delightful find.
