Solo 45 is a member of the north London grime collective Boy Better Know, a talented bunch of musicians and artists which includes acts like Wiley, Skepta, Shorty and JME. They’ve all seen commercial crossover success and this debut solo single from him is destined to follow in their suit. It’s an uncompromising assault on the senses that’s laced with anger and comes straight at you like an untamed wild beast which has just been let off its leash, growling and taunting you to react as it snaps viciously at your feet. Produced by another BBK member Preditah (who we featured recently with his own track Selecta), it was first aired publicly at last year’s huge Red Bull Academy Culture Clash in London to a crowd of 20,000 people. More recently he’s toured with Wiley and Stormzy and seen the track hit the Top 3 on Spotfiy UK’s viral chart. Smacking you over the head repeatedly until you submit, this will be inescapable in the coming weeks.
