For The Day
We say
Imagine still being in your teens, getting a support slot to play with The Black Keys on their UK arena tour this month and then finding out the gig is cancelled as one of the headline act has injured themselves. That’s exactly what’s happened to hot indie hopefuls Young Braves. It’s just over a year since the school-kids changed their name from Arcade Parade and released their debut single Youth. Now comes this rather accomplished debut EP which shows a depth and quality of songwriting way beyond their years. With a growing reputation and fan-base expanding after BBC Introducing plays via Huw Stephens at Radio 1, lead singer Olly Scott has recently provided backing vocals on the track Walk With Me on the latest Charlatans Top 10 album. Next, expect summer festival slots. The global music market is always looking for a fresh breakthrough band that could emulate the kind of success an act like Coldplay started with almost 15 years ago. With a bit of savvy nurturing in the next 12 months, we’re confident these lads could easily fulfil those expectations.
