Lady Grey
We say
If you have a ticket for their sold-out London gig at The Lexington tomorrow night (January 28), you’re in for treat. Famously mixing genres from folk, blues and punk, whilst swapping instruments throughout the set, the four Norwegian ladies known as Katzenjammer hit the capital just as they’re about to release their third album Rockland in the UK. Produced by Victor Van Vugt, who’s noted for his work with Nick Cave and PJ Harvey amongst others, the album's just gone Top 5 in Germany and this fabulous track sounds bright on the surface but tells the genuine poignant tale of a lady with Alzheimer’s who happened to be the patient of Marianne from the group, back in her days when she worked as a nurse. With support from key tastemakers blogs Clash Music and The Line Of Best Fit, the band has built a cult following here and a nationwide tour is imminent. Now exposed to a Sunday morning mainstream audience via a Radio 2 session with Terry Wogan a few days ago, the Scandi music invasion of our heads and hearts continues unabated. Delightful.
