So What
We say
In-your-face power pop here from Room 94, a young band from St Albans who look set to consolidate on their success to date with their forthcoming self-titled second album. Last year the unsigned four-piece scored a UK Top 30 debut with their album No Strings Attached, toured with Union J and Lawson and even started their own clothing line Lemon Clothing, named after three of the brothers in the band. We admire the hardcore grass-roots following they’ve managed to build up online over the past few years through hard graft, touring and a solid set of songs to back it all up. With tight, clean production this time from Jamie Sellers, which combines the hard-edged sound with pure pop sensibility, it’s a winning combination. See just how accomplished they are live when they play London’s Islington Academy on March 13. As bands like Australia’s 5 Seconds Of Summer conquer the world during 2015, watch these guitar-wielding British boys fly the flag for us in the slipstream.
