Teach Me
We say
Premiered worldwide last night as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record, this cool collaboration sees teenage Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ hook up with Kiesza for an absolute surefire smash. The guestlist lined up on his forthcoming debut album BA. DA. $$ is impressive with names like Sound Of 2015 hot shot Raury rubbing shoulders with Maverick Sabre and many more. It drops on January 20 on his 20th birthday and follows on from his '1999' mixtape in 2013 which helped make a name for himself as part of the Pro Era collective, comprising other rappers plus producers, photographers and promoters. At the end of last year he sold out London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and his entire UK tour, following on from memorable Reading & Leeds sets plus European dates with Disclosure. Politicised, smart and sharp, Joey’s making a name for himself outside of music too - he recently discussed the Ferguson riots with Semtex on Radio 1. There’s no disputing his talent and energy - now this huge track sounds just like his calling card to spread his reputation way beyond a niche rap crowd and right to the heart of daytime radio too.
