Crocodile Tears
We say
DJ, producer and songwriter GRADES is one of the hottest names in UK dance music right now. His collaboration Torn Apart with Bastille, which he co-wrote and produced, is currently sitting on the Radio 1 playlist and should prove something of a scene-setter for this, his first commercial solo release. This catchy slice of retro-influenced speed garage went to No.1 on HypeMachine and has racked up almost 200,000 Soundcloud plays. It has also found favour at 1xtra (Sarah Jane Crawford recently made it her Record Of the Week) and Kiss Fresh, and has been playlisted by both radio stations. Those all-important tastemakers at Radio 1 have heaped praise on him over the past few months - Annie Mac named him as her ‘Most Played’, Pete Tong featured him as his ‘Future Star’ and he was also Zane Lowe's ‘Next Hype’. With high profile DJ sets lined up at Eton Messy's London event at Birthdays on November 22 and at ICan Studios on December 5, this slick, accomplished floorfiller will undoubtedly reinforce GRADES as an essential name to keep an eye on throughout 2015.
