Faraday Cage
We say
After releasing their debut album Only Bodies in August to much acclaim and racking up over 200,000 streams in just a fortnight for previous single Eyes, London quartet Escapists continue to build a great live reputation following support gigs with the likes of the Manics and Imagine Dragons. This album opener sets the tone for a collection of tight, accomplished guitar anthems, topped off by Simon Glancy's soaring vocals, very reminiscent of great British bands like Maximo Park and Editors. Radio support has recently included John Kennedy at XFM, Huw Stephens and Jen & Ally at Radio 1 and Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music. After sold out gigs at London's Borderline and Hoxton Bar & Grill, the lads are back in the capital tonight (October 15) supporting Young Rising Sons at Notting Hill Arts Club. With a welcoming familiarity and keen ear for a great melody, Escapists deliver an exciting and alluring, neatly-crafted sound which should justifiably help bring their music to the masses.
