We say
Instantly in your face with an exuberant guitar rush and a screaming lead vocal from singer and drummer Hanna Brewer, this top slice of power pop comes from Texan trio Purple. It's taken from their debut album titled (409), named after their local area code and was recorded in El Paso with producer Chris 'Frenchie' Smith (noted for his work with rock acts such as Jet and And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead). After impressing several tastemakers at The Great Escape in Brighton back in May, the band's back in the UK touring for most of this month supporting The Subways. There's a John Kennedy live Xfm session on October 28 and Zane Lowe showed his love for the track with a play on his Radio 1 show last week. Soon they'll perform at Vice's Halloween House Party at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch and there's also gig at the Sebright Arms on November 18 co-headling with Broncho. Packing a solid punch and with a kick ass melody driving the whole thing along, Purple deliver a top notch rock anthem here that'll stay with you all day and beyond.
