After relocating from Norway to vibey Hackney Wick in East London, Hawkon is the hip name to drop right now, following his performances at packed warehouse parties in the area. He's played sold-out gigs back home in his native land as well as in Germany and last night at London's Seabright Arms. All of this has helped his unique brand of R&B-infused electro pop catch the attention of key industry tastemakers. Cool, chilled lo-fi analogue instrumentation is overlaid with a distinctive falsetto vocal on this first track to come from forthcoming EP Dare To Follow, which is due next month. Mixed and co-produced by Blue May, fresh from working on the new Kindness album, it's a bittersweet modern love song where he sings of fear rather than the joy of being lost in the moment itself. Refreshingly honest and almost confessional, we're excited by what might come next from him. All in all, the buzz is truly justified.
