Quirky and perky, this instantly appealing track is a collaboration between an anonymous collective of touring and session musicians/producers/engineers who call themselves Santa Maradona F.C. and one of the brightest stars to emerge from the UK X Factor in recent years. Lucy Spraggan is currently in the middle of recording her second solo album, due for release in 2015, but it seems her success and profile on the TV talent show passed these guys by. One member of the globetrotting group, who lives without a TV or radio, thought she was an unknown singer they'd simply unearthed on the internet. When her manager was approached to ask if she could come over to the studio and add a vocal to the track they'd recorded, she jumped at the chance, especially as they'd chosen her without any preconceptions and were totally oblivious to the fact that she actually has over 600,000 Twitter followers. With a cool, late summer vibe and an engaging vocal from the Yorkshire lass, there are also remixes from Mark Knight, Joyce Muniz and Ruben Mandolini. Live gigs from the group are planned for later this year and their album should be out next spring, possibly with more great collaborations like this. On paper, the track probably shouldn't work. In reality, it's a bit of surprise gem.
