A Room Of Her Own
We say
About to play their first-ever live UK date, Swedish trio Like Swimming are purveyors of expertly-crafted Scandi-Pop that makes you wish the summer would last just that little bit longer. They formed almost two years ago from the ashes of a five-piece called You Say France & I Whistle, a name they took from an obscure Van Morrison demo. Comprising of Claes Carlstrom on vocals and guitar, Ida Hedene on vocals and keyboards and Petter Wesslander on drums, the band are signed to Nashville label DigSin but their influences and sound aren't just restricted to the burgeoning world of country music, despite their stark and intimate early recordings being created in a forest cabin deep in the wilderness just outside Stockholm. This great, featured track comes from their debut album Structures and it reminds us more of all the stuff we've loved in the past about bands like Noah & The Whale and Of Monsters & Men. See what we mean when you get a chance to catch them live tonight (September 8) in London as part of a label showcase, also featuring the talented Lauren Shera, all at The Social on Little Portland Street from 8pm. Play this song just once today and it'll be in your head for the rest of the week, we guarantee.
