Everlasting Light
We say
We last featured Dry The River back in 2012 when we put the spotlight on the track New Ceremony. Now two years on and slimmed down to a four-piece comprising of Peter, Matt, Scott and Jon, they're back with an even bolder sound and their second album Alarms In The Heart is currently sitting proudly inside the Top 30 on the official midweek album chart. Production comes from Charlie Hugall (noted for his work with Florence and The Machine and Ed Sheeran), Paul Savage, Peter Miles and arrangements and strings from Valgeir Sigurðsson (who's worked with Sigur Rós and Björk amongst others). It comes less than a week after their triumphant live sets on the Main Stage at Reading and Leeds festivals. The band sounded exquisitely tight and the new material sounded especially good with Peter Liddle's unique vocal shining throughout, just as it also does on this fine track. Autumn headline UK dates include a night at London's Forum on October 16 and they'll also be Stateside too with key dates at The Troubadour in LA and New York's Bowery Ballroom later that month. Soaring, energetic and laden with hooks, this is great British widescreen alt-rock at its very best.
