We say

Sam Harper grew up in Wales and the West Country before moving to London to study at Westminster Uni. Now embarking on a musical career with just her surname intact, Harper is about to release her excellent debut EP of which this is the title track. She got the singing and performing bug as a kid with the unlikely inspiration of No Limit by 2Unlimited being the catalyst, but there's very little evidence of that here, you may be relieved to know. Instead, it's a confident and heart-felt vocal delivered over a powerfully dark piano-led arrangement that builds and builds towards a dramatic crescendo. It's the work of songwriting and production team Eagle Eye, whose credits include Little Mix, Pixie Lott and Conor Maynard. The other tracks on the EP show she's a versatile talent too, flitting effortlessly between rock, dubstep and folk influences. This song is wistful pop with a twisted edge, emotionally outlining a tale of love and loss. It reminds us of that impressive worldwide smash Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri and deserves to be just as huge. Elegantly cool.
