Wasted Love (ft. Dougy from The Temper Trap)
We say
As one third of the legendary Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello helped define dance as a global musical force to be reckoned with, making it super-sized and turning it in to the multi-billion dollar industry that it is today. Anticipation is high for his debut solo album Wild Youth, which is due this autumn and this first track from it sees two genres collide with vocals from Dougy Mandagi, lead singer with cool Australian guitar band The Temper Trap, most famous for their excellent 2009 hit Sweet Disposition. If you, like us, caught Steve's recent euphoric live set up at T In The Park you'll have heard this track premiered there. Zane Lowe then gave it its first-ever radio play a few days later at Radio 1 and since then support has come from Fearne Cotton, Danny Howard and Pete Tong at the station as well as from Clubbers Guide at Capital Xtra. The reason the track works so well is thanks to Angello's canny ability to take the best elements of what his featured vocalist can offer and mesh it beautifully with the key formula needed for an enormous mainstream dance anthem. Fans on both sides will lap this up and don't be surprised if the track dominates multi formats at radio for months ahead.
