Coming Home
We say
Destined to feature on every self-respecting chillout album for decades to come, this blissful track from Pacific State combines three winning elements. Firstly, a soulful Adele/Paloma-esque vocal, then an addictive breakbeat and finally that peerless horn and string instrumental finale from Glenn Campbell's classic Wichita Lineman. The duo behind this perfect musical cocktail are songwriter Berri Farley and writer-producer Simon Marlin, who scored a No.1 smash a decade ago with Lola's Theme as one half of The Shapeshifters. Rob Da Bank played this first on Radio 1 a few weeks ago and now the legendary DJ Jose Padilla has returned to Café Del Mar in Ibiza after 15 years away, this regularly features in his set as the sun goes down on the Balearic island. Café Mambo is also set to showcase the track on their 20th anniversary compilation very soon. As August is upon us and another great summer starts drawing to a close, this deserves to be the soundtrack by which we remember those glorious sun-drenched days. There's a touch of something genuinely magical going on right here.
