We say

Electro-based polished pop of the highest order here with one of four great tracks on the EP Worlds Apart from New York-based artist Betty Who. This talented 22 year-old singer/songwriter/musician and dancer was born in Sydney but divided her childhood between there and Northern California. In her teens, she moved fully to the US to study music, firstly one summer in Michigan and then for three years at the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world, Berklee in Boston. Now she's currently prepping her debut album for release next year. Betty writes the lyrics to all of her songs and is assisted by Peter Thomas who's been her musical partner for the past four years, with both of them creating the beats for each track. We heard there was quite a buzz last month when she played live in London for the first time in Hoxton during a UK promo trip, and she's about to head back to her native Australia to support Katy Perry on her Prism world tour. More UK dates are also promised soon. With influences like Perry, Abba, Prince, Robyn and Madonna all shining through in her work to date, you can sense she'll embrace the mainstream spotlight fully when her cool nuggets of pop perfection hit a global musical audience in the coming months. Slick-sounding but with bags of character underneath it all, you'll be sounding foolish if you ask 'Betty who?' for much longer.
