All I Want
We say
As one half of US ambient electronic duo Houses, Dexter Tortoriello became the darling of music blogs worldwide and his status builds ever larger now with his solo project Dawn Golden. Beginning life as a bunch of experimental recordings done purely as a side-line to his main work, the first fruits of those sessions were released three years ago when the Blow EP received wide acclaim. Now the debut album Still Life is finally about to see the light of day and from it comes this beautiful first track. Upcoming live dates in London are on June 20 at the Electric Ballroom as part of this year's Camden Crawl and at Dalston's Waiting Room venue on June 23. Stark electronic beats build to a full-on rush as the song progresses. Reflecting on human mortality and unrequited love, once found then lost again, the song is both moving and uplifting, filled full of hope despite the outwards tone of melancholy. Zane Lowe has already bestowed his Next Hype honour upon it and Diplo has remixed the single. Hypnotic, chilled and introspective, it's the perfect soundtrack to your day-to-day chaos.
