We say

We first featured New City Kings back in February with the title track to their Change EP, when the band had yet to find management or a TV and press team to promote them. Now, just three months on, things are stepping up a level for them, we're delighted to say. Organisers of this year's Download have booked the band to play an acoustic set at next month's festival, a gig they're warming up to with nationwide dates this very week, including Manchester tonight and finishing up at London's Garage on June 6. Still completely independent, with their own label BAM Records that was started by lead singer Mark Konstantinovic, the lads are now recording their second EP with top producer Julian Emery (who's past work we've admired for Lissie and McFly). They've also started putting together a full European tour and more UK dates for the autumn. What's impressed us so far and what continues to impress us now is their knack for making instantly appealing, punter-friendly mainstream rock whilst slogging their guts out to build a solid live reputation and fan base too. Competent and confident, this featured track is another from that excellent debut EP. The sky's the limit, boys.
