Shining Star [Supernova Remix]
We say
After the joyful spectacle of Eurovision over the weekend, let's keep that upbeat musical mood going. How about some instant feel-good pop with a nod towards R&B, built for the dancefloor and designed with international appeal? Kéyoh is a rather talented lady with a bright future, we reckon. She was born in Yerevan in Armenia, but raised in Ghent in Belgium. Her first single was a summer hit there last year and heavily supported by key radio station MNM. She writes her own songs and is working on an album with a bunch of top German production and songwriting names, including Steffen Häfelinger and Roland Spremberg, which should be in place for the autumn. The production and remix here comes from Criss Tonino who's past work has included tracks by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland and Tweet featuring Missy Elliott. It's precisely the kind of tune we can imagine the likes of Rita Ora or even Rihanna would have a massive worldwide hit with if they covered it. Perhaps Belgium should have sent this young lady to the Eurovision semi-final instead of their actual entry from the odd-looking chap who sang opera. We suspect they would have got a hell of a lot more votes, that's for sure.
