We say

You couldn't wish for a better start to a new artist's career than having your debut solo single go straight in at No.1. That's precisely what happened for Sam Smith, of course, when our previously-featured Money On My Mind was released and now comes the key track that leads into the campaign for the highly-anticipated album (titled In The Lonely Hour, due May 26). Still only 21, he's already wowing the media Stateside thanks to slots with Jimmy Fallon recently and Saturday Night Live on the way soon. His SXSW performance was acclaimed and there have been sell-out dates in NYC and LA. Back home, UK dates at London's Roundhouse on May 30 and Somerset House on July 18 are already sold out too. Radio 1's Zane Lowe played the track first on Tuesday evening. Featuring his distinctive vocals, this is a raw, almost introspective love song that oozes heartache and yearning, beautifully produced and with an emotional gospel feel throughout. With remixes from Shy FX, Darkchild and Wilfred Giroux, it's another biggie, for sure.
