Digging Holes
We say
Raglans is an Irish four-piece, led by singer Stephen Kelly, who's reputation as a live act grows daily, especially after recent support slots for Haim, The Courteeners and their mates The Strypes. Their self-titled debut album is out March 24, produced by Jay Reynolds (who's worked with Pulp and The Verve) and mastered by Brian Lucy (who's also done projects for Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys and Beck). It features recent single (Lady) Roll Back The Years as well as this great song. Huw Stephens and Phil & Alice at Radio 1 plus Pete Mitchell & Geoff Lloyd at Absolute Radio are all already on board with these fellas. A 15-date UK tour starts in Edinburgh on April 8 and arrives in London's Sebright Arms on April 17. The sound they make is akin to that of The Lumineers, Of Monsters & Men and Kaiser Chiefs - folky, indie and revivalist; the soundtrack to a warm festival evening, singing at the top of your voice and losing it along with your mates in a field, grinning from ear to ear. Big choruses, big sound, big stars in the making. In a nutshell, this is a great single. Oh, and the video is bloody hilarious.
