We're already big fans of Jakwob and last supported him here almost a year ago with the self-released track that eventually became a Top 40 hit, Fade. Now Somebody New sees the London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist musician move to Shy FX's label Digital Soundboy, building an even greater confidence into his sound than ever before. He's graduated from remixer du jour for pop royalty like Usher and Lana Del Rey to go-to producer for other artists and has just produced Kyle La Grange's acclaimed new album. Vocals here come from Tiffani Juno: gorgeously sweet and soulful and the video perfectly encapsulates the morning-after-the night-before comedown that you'd experience after a euphoric evening in a club. Almost 30 plays so far at Radio 1 with key spins for the single from Annie Mac (who premiered it), Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale, B Traits, Dance Anthems, Mistajam, Phil & Alice, Rob Da Bank, Skream & Benga and Huw Stephens, along with 1Xtra (50 plays), Kiss Fresh & MTV Dance playlisting too. Add to that XFM, Capital Xtra, Ministry and Rinse, all indicating that this future chillout anthem is about to blow up rather massively.
