Here's To My Old Friends
We say
Are you an ad creative looking to instantaneously stir feelings of warmth and nostalgia in the hearts of middle-aged, middle-income ABC1 males? Then look no further than Here's To My Old Friends by Leeds newcomers Dancing Years, which had us blubbing into our crumpled M&S hankies before the end of the first verse. The gentle pink-plonk of piano, the rising see-saw of cello and a keening vocal from singer David Henshaw pining for old times and old friends conspire to soften even the hardest of hearts. Produced by James Kenosha (Dry The River, Pulled Apart By Horses), this delicate and wistful debut single recently received a first play from Radio 1's Jen Long, while previous demos have picked up support from Huw Stephens, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Having toured with Jamie N Commons, Dry The River and Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Dancing Years head out on their own 'Leaving The House' tour throughout October. Mansize Balsam Kleenex recommended.
