Renaissance Girls
We say
Of the three names she selected among to be professionally known by, Nanna Øland Fabricius definitely chose the right one, because over two albums Oh Land has proven that she occupies a space very much her own. Her Dave Sitek-produced new record Wish Bone, due for release through his own label Federal Prism on November 4, has all the charm and eccentricity of the first two with a handful of hits to boot. Not the least of them is forthcoming single Renaissance Girls, a quirky and infectious ode to female empowerment that almost demands you come back for seconds. Likewise the video, in which Fabricius' former career as a ballet dancer shines through in some of the most captivating choreography we've seen in a long time. Expect a multitude of home-made instruments and on-stage miscellany when Oh Land brings her visually arresting live show to the UK for a series of live dates in December.
