Rango
We say
Following on from Homesick, their explosive debut on Communion featured here in June, Llandudno four-piece Catfish and the Bottlemen return with another gutsy single that easily does justice to the band's forceful live presence. Rango is another shower of lacerating guitars and frayed vocals, this time eschewing the humdrum of life in small-town North Wales. Solid specialist radio for Homesick (Zane, Huw, Phil & Alice, Xfm, 6Music) seems now to be tipping into early crossover support for Rango, premiered as a Hottest Record by Zane Lowe with additional plays from Sara Cox, Huw Stephens et al (from a BBC Introducing playlist spot), plus an Xfm Evening playlist addition. Press is building too, with fans ranging from Clash to Company. Next stop Reading & Leeds, where the band play the BBC Introducing stage ahead of a seemingly endless run of live dates through the autumn.
