She
We say
After being tipped in virtually every ‘Ones to Watch’ poll at the tail end of last year, including the Brits Critics Choice and BBC Sound of 2013, this year Laura Mvula has been busy translating critical acclaim into genuine audience connection. Two Glastonbury performances – on the Pyramid and Park stages – plus T in the Park and Isle of Wight festival appearances, a sold-out regional tour and supports with Jessie Ware and Paloma Faith, have seen her mesmerising audiences everywhere with her one-woman symphony. Taken from her top 10 debut album Sing To The Moon, new single She is the track that started it all last year, reinvigorated with a new video from Alex Southam, a captivating no-cut sequence of looped vignettes telling the life story of both one woman and everywoman simultaneously. Radio promo to come includes interviews at Radio 4, Xfm and 1Xtra, while further live appearances include Latitude this weekend, the BBC Urban Prom next month, a raft of European festival appearances over the summer and a further UK headline tour in October.
