We say

Blogosphere-busting Bristol four-piece Seasfire continue their upward trajectory with the release on July 1 of convincing power-pop song Oh..Lucifer. Debut single Falling found friends at Xfm, 6Music and BBC Introducing, whose Reading/Leeds stage and Radio 1 playlist they graced last year, followed by a clutch of supports to the likes of Bastille, The Neighbourhood and The 1975. Follow-up single We Will Make cemented their reputation as one of the most blogged-about artists of 2012, reaching no. 1 on Hype Machine and receiving continued support from Huw Stephens and Annie Mac. Produced by the band and mixed by Dan Grech (The Vaccines, Hurts, Lana Del Rey), Oh..Lucifer is pop music with bark and bite - baleful still, but ballsier than their previous offerings. What with singer Josh Thorn's Buckley-esque voice and good looks, added to his band's meticulous live reputation, Seasfire might seem to good to be true. Be under no illusion: this is a band with the potential to match its ambition.

London gig: Station Session, St Pancras International, June 20
