We say
Free (The Editorial Me) is a phenomenal return from one of pops truly pioneering artists. The first single to be taken from Darwin Deez' forthcoming second album - Songs For Imaginative People (due February 11) - shows all the ingredients of an artist not afraid to step outside the sound that his fans fell in love with, whilst retaining the exciting core of what made Darwin Deez first time out on his eponymous debut (which sold an outstanding 40k in the UK alone). Last night it received its radio premiere on Radio1 as Zane Lowe’s 'Hottest Record In The World', with spins following on Huw Stephen's Radio1 show, 6Music and Xfm. Further plays are scheduled this morning on Fearne Cotton's Radio1 show and 6Music, setting the release off to an incredible start at UK radio. Unsurprisingly the accompanying Ninian Doff (Pulse) directed video is utterly brilliant. The album was entirely self-recorded and produced by Darwin in Asheville, North Carolina, and mixed in London with Charlie Andrew (Alt-J).London Gig: November 28 XOYO EC2
