We say

Workin’ Woman Blues is a hauntingly beautiful track from phenomenal roots talent Valerie June as she picks up a wealth of support after only a few months in the spotlight. Having played her debut UK shows at the Dalston Victoria and Blacks (acoustic) in September, Valerie made her UK TV debut on Tuesday's 'Later... with Jools Holland' (October 30) with an incredible acoustic performance of today's RotD setting Twitter alight with praise. The potent lyricist reprises the single performance as well as another album track in tonight's extended show on BBC2, with early radio support already established from Cerys Matthews (who also has a live session confirmed) and Gideon Coe on 6Music, plus glowing praise and plays from Mary Anne Hobbs at Xfm. Working with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and Kevin Augunas (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Florence & The Machine) and recording at The Black Keys' Easy Eye Studio in Nashville, the team have captured the mixture of blues, folk, gospel, bluegrass, soul, Appalachian and stunning vocal peal of the country delta-blues that Valerie is inspired by on her debut album, Pushin’ Against A Stone, due for release May 2013.
