We say
Scottish four-piece John Wean have come swaggering into the music scene with all guns blazing. New single 'New York Doesn’t Love You' tells the thoroughly modern tale of a Facebook love story, however, far from a dreary ballad the fast tempo, guitar-driven pop track offers up a record as current as its subject. Already hailed as “the best thing to come out of Uddingston since the Tunnock’s Tea Cake” and as one of the “Tips For 2012” in the Scottish Sun, the calibre of their slamming guitar-pop records is certainly being noted. Live Nation have been early supporters, adding the band to the BT London Live bill plus they've already received their first national radio play from Fearne Cotton at R1, since then tastemakers such as Steve Lamacq on 6 Music (where they've now been playlisted) and Gary Crowley on BBC London have also been quick on the uptake. With gigs already sold out at Glasgow's King Tut's, Oran Mor and Classic Grand their regional tour throughout July looks set to be pivotal for the band.London gigs:
24 July – Buffalo Bar, Islington; 27 July - Cavendish Arms, Stockwell; 28 July - BT London Live
