Holy Moses is the best thing we've heard from Washington yet, bringing together her dark side and jazz roots to make for a fantastically provoking track. Debut album - I Believe You Liar - was a huge success in her native homeland Australia. It went platinum, with Washington going on to win two ARIA's, for Best Female Artist and Breakthrough Artist. As a songwriter she's written with the likes of Paul Kelly and Tim Finn (Split Enz and Crowded House). Paul Lester at The Guardian compared her writing to that of Elvis Costello's earlier years in this hugely supportive column. Early radio support has come from Zane Lowe on Radio 1, with further plays on Radio 2 and 6 Music. Currently embarking on a US tour with OMD, Washington is now living in New York. The 25-year-old singer recently signed to Mercury, and is set to release her debut album here in the UK on the same date as this great single. Video.
