We say
Girls On Medication was the shimmering debut single from Brooklyn's Caged Animals, full of gorgeously ethereal soundscapes. Their new single, Teflon Heart – the first to be lifted from the forthcoming debut album Eat Their Own – takes a sharp stylistic swerve into bold iconic pop territory. The first signing to the Lucky Number label after Darwin Deez, Caged Animals are following a similar trajectory with strong blog coverage now being turned into tastemaker support at radio and press, with The Guardian commenting, "If Alan Vega was 40 years younger, he'd be doing this. Or if they remade Blue Velvet, this could work as the soundtrack". A Star Slinger remix also excels and their forthcoming show at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, with fellow Lucky Number signings, Friends, is sure to be one of the most talked about of the Autumn.London Gig: September 27, Hoxton Bar & Kitchen N1
