After the success of his 2006 ARIA winning album, Gotye returns with a new single, which is deservedly receiving a lot of attention. Featuring Kiwi newcomer Kimbra (see RotD 19.10.10), Somebody That I Used To Know is an impassioned piece of songwriting detailing a back and forth between two ex-lovers. After a tweet from Ashton Kutcher tipping the track to his seven million followers it went to number one on The Hype Machine Twitter Chart. With a fantastic stop frame video amassing almost 400,000 YouTube plays, Somebody That I Used To Know could well be the song that finally helps Gotye receive the international acclaim he deserves.
