We say
Nominated in six categories at the recent ARIA Awards in Australia, Megan Washington came away with the Best Female Artist and Breakthrough Artist prizes, capping off the night with a rapturously-received live performance. The 24 year-old's debut album, I Believe You Liar, co-produced with collaborator John Castle, spent ten weeks in the Australian Top 5, debuting at No3, and reaching Gold status within a month. Her brand of literate, twisted pop - never more evident on the beautiful How To Tame Lions - is now getting strong interest in USA, with UK and European labels also on the trail. NYC and Paris gigs next week come either side of a London show. International licensing rights are available ex-Australia/NZ, and the team are currently seeking booking agents too.
