LA act 8mm were founded by producer Sean Beavan (NIN, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, Guns n' Roses), and his wife, Juliette. They have been tipped by tastemakers such as Nic Harcourt and Geoff Boucher of the LA Times music blog. Their music has recently been featured on national promos for Nip/Tuck and Yamaha with syncs on Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill to name but a few. Los Angeles is one of six tracks on their recently digitally-released Love and the Apocalypse EP. It's a classy, captivating sound, which puts us in mind of the mournful orchestral pop of Nina Persson's A Camp project and Aimee Mann's work too. 8mm are unsigned and available for records and publishing.(photo by TJ Scott)
