Currently preparing material for release later this year, Andrew Davie used to front cult folk act Cherbourg, which sprang from the same scene as Mumford and Sons and Noah and the Whale. There's a much more commercial feel to his solo work though, with comparisons to Snow Patrol popping up on much of the blog coverage so far. Strong industry interest is already mounting ahead of future demos to be recorded next month with producer/engineer Simon 'Barny' Barnicott. On the strength of this early effort, the excitement is warranted. JF
