16-year-old Max Tuohy has just signed to Ugly Truth for records, home to Newton Faulkner. And similar to Newton, Max has grown out of the Cornish live scene, selling a limited edition 7" of this track at gigs. He has also been championed by those behind The Bedford/Regal Rooms in London and has played regularly there, as well as playing Field Live at The Enterprise last week. As his touring plot grows in 2009, he's marked in many corners are one to watch for next year. Available for publishing, strong tracks like this do his prospects no harm at all. JF
