The Parlotones are a South African four-piece who had a huge 2006 in their native SA as their debut full-length, Radiocontrolledrobot, won the 2006 Best Rock Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMA). As a result of their success last year the band went on to sign a worldwide license deal with Universal Music International (who signed them for the world excl. South Africa). The track featured here (a forthcoming single) has been synched to a TV advert in Ireland, where they have recently enjoyed significant airplay. In the live setting and on record front-man Kahn Morbee's vocals steer each song from being wholly accessible to endearingly eclectic. As well as ‘Beautiful’ other tracks like 'Dragonflies And Astronauts' (which can be found on their MySpace) demonstrate that these guys have a lot up their sleeve as a mainstream act with international ambitions.
