It's a hard time for the dreamers but it's an even harder time for the career pop songwriters. The silver lining is that they often go off and do something interesting, creative and worthwhile, as with Shelly's own album. With her sister Karen, she was Alicia's Attic, so they were artists before they started writing songs for other people. Karen was one of the few songwriters who rose to the top as the pop bubble burst. Shelly is now following in her footsteps with collaborations including Janet Jackson, Michael Gray, Rachel Stevens and Jamelia. But best of all is this, the title track from her album. One of those songs that does exactly what it should, when it should.
