Since we last featured this, Island have committed to releasing Hush in the UK and we're delighted that If I Was will be the first single. They're a credible alternative country act fronted by the very striking Dorthe Gerlach. If I Was is a beautiful and mega-commercial piece of music that provided their radio breakthrough in Denmark. Andy Bradfield (who mixed the last two Rufus Wainwright records and has just finished the new David Gray record) was drafted in to give a better ‘radio sound’ than the original. Second single Lovestruck features on a pan-European VW ad. They play London's Water Rats tonight at 8pm.
