We say
Mattafix are intriguing for several reasons. They describe themselves as Massive Attack fronted by Shuggie Otis. That's a great description, and theyalso sound to us like Faithless without the house element. They're a two-piece, London-based studio project - a producer and a vocalist (who, remarkably, does all the vocals on this track). They're the first signing to the new label of former London Records chair Tracy Bennett. Oh, and they have a wicked way with a hook as Big City Life demonstrates. It has already had support from Xfm and several spot plays on Radio 1 including Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Jo Whiley. They play Notting Hills Arts Club on July 14, 28 and August 4.Contact
